In 2017, Identifying a gap in provision, the FAI in conjunction with Esker Celtic FC started to develop Frame Football in Ireland to support people who use a walking aid such as a frame to participate in a format of football which is tailored to their needs. A small sided game played on a hard surface or firm astroturf there are currently 2 clubs in Ireland with plans for further growth in 2020.
