Meath Disability Service works with a range of voluntary services to provide care and training and development for children and adults with an intellectual, physical or sensory disability.
HSE services in Meath are delivered by the Children’s Disability Service and the Adult Disability Service. Access to both services is by means of a referral form which should be made to the individual service departments.
Meath Children’s Disability Service
The Meath Children’s Disability Service co-ordinates and provides services for children and young people aged 0-18 years who have complex needs associated with an intellectual disability, autistic spectrum disorder, specific language impairment and/or an on-going functional, physical or sensory disability. The service is delivered through a partnership arrangement between Enable Ireland and the HSE.

Meath Adult Disability Service
The Meath Adult Disability Team co-ordinates community services for adults aged 18-65 years with disabilities of a neurological nature and/or intellectual disability and /or autistic spectrum disorder, living in the Meath Primary care area who require services greater than can be provided by their local Primary Care Team.

Referrals
Self-referrals are accepted by both the Children’s service (from the age of 16) and the Adult service, as well as referrals from family, carers and other sources including healthcare professionals, hospitals, community services and voluntary organisations.
