Carriglea Cáirde Services provides residential, respite and day services services and supports to persons with an intellectual disability. Services are provided to people in West Waterford and services are mainly centred in Dungarvan.
Carriglea Cáirde Services provides a variety of services and supports to approx. 180 adults with an intellectual disability or autism and their families throughout County Waterford.
The supports including residential, respite, day and multi-disciplinary are provided by approx. 250 staff with a variety of professional backgrounds and experience and who are motivated in their work by the ethos, vision and values of Carriglea Cáirde Services. The Services work in partnership with local communities, state agencies and voluntary organisations to initiate and develop increasingly inclusive opportunities for and with the people who receive services from Carriglea Cáirde Services. Carriglea Cáirde Services is a learning organisation whose responses are based on best practice and in full recognition of the rights of each person to self determine their life goals and wishes. Carriglea Cáirde Services has a zero tolerance to all forms of abuse and the vision statement of the Services is to support people’s independence through quality and safe services. Through advocacy the Services listen to the people who are in receipt of services and subject to resources endeavour to provide individuals with high quality supports that best suit their wishes and requirements.
Carriglea Cáirde Services provides services on behalf of the Health Service Executive (HSE). An annual Service Level Arrangement is in place with the HSE for the provision of services. The Service has a Strategic Action Plan to guide the services in meeting the needs of service users.
Carriglea Cáirde Services is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. It is a Company Limited by Guarantee and not having a share capital.
